da bet7k: Newcastle United announced on Monday that Rafael Benitez would be leaving the Magpies following the expiry of his contract at the end of this month.
Benitez has been in charge of Newcastle since 2016, winning 62, drawing 31 and losing 53 of his 146 matches as head coach.
The 59-year-old will not be the manager of the Premier League club next season, though, after failing to agree a new contract.
The Magpies are now searching for Benitez’s successor.
It will certainly be very interesting to see where the club go from here.
A number of Newcastle fans have been on social media offering their views on the situation and a selection have picked out Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe as a potential option.

Howe initially took charge of Bournemouth in December 2008 before a short spell with Burnley between January 2011 and October 2012.
The 41-year-old has taken charge of over 300 games in his second spell with the Cherries and some Newcastle fans have picked him out as a replacement for the Spaniard they would be content with.
