da 888: Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer has confirmed his side’s interest in Leeds United misfit Eunan O’Kane, quotes from The South London Press & Mercury state.
What’s the word?
da cassino online: New Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has made it clear that Eunan O’Kane is not a part of his plans at Elland Road this season, and a move to League One could be on the cards after Charlton boss Lee Bowyer confirmed his interest in the midfielder.
The Republic of Ireland international made 32 appearances for the Peacocks last season but was often criticised by his own fans on Twitter for his displays, has been pushed towards an exit from the Yorkshire giants after Bielsa’s appointment was followed by the capture of Lewis Baker – who has impressed so far this season.
O’Kane is therefore expected to leave before the loan window closes next week and Bowyer, a former Leeds man himself, confirmed to The South London Press & Mercury that he is interested in the 28-year-old but admits a deal is not easy to complete.
What was said?
“He is definitely someone we are interested in. But obviously he’s on a big wage, so Leeds are weighing up where he is going. Because of that, we can’t compete with his wage and the player wants to play in the Championship still.
“Is it going to happen straight away? No. We’ve spoken a couple of weeks ago now. They know we’re interested. They have said they will try and look after me if they can. At this present time he’s not coming down but it could be something happens later on.”
Should Leeds allow a move?
While O’Kane’s wages and the fact that he wants to remain in the Championship remain a problem, should interest from suitors in England’s second tier fail to materialise then Bielsa must work his magic and convince the Republic of Ireland international that dropping down into League One would be a worthwhile move.

There is just a week remaining before the loan window shuts and, as it stands, Charlton appear to be the only side attributed with an interest in O’Kane – and Marcelo Bielsa should be pushing for a deal to be completed imminently.
O’Kane is extremely unlikely to earn any opportunities at Elland Road this season and the longer Leeds wait to try and get a deal done, the risk that he will remain on the club’s books increases.
