da bet7: It’s been quite the couple of weeks for Joe Hart at Manchester City.
da apostaganha: If anyone would have told us a few weeks ago that he’d be playing for a mid-table Serie A side with his Manchester City career effectively over, I’m sure we all would have laughed. Some may have run to the bookies and put a bet on but the likelihood is we’d have laughed it off.
But right now, that is the very real scenario for Joe Hart and he has a season in Italy ahead. Some have dubbed the move a backwards step while some have suggested he should embrace it and use it to his advantage. How much say the Englishman had in the transfer is unknown, and it’s likely it would have been Torino or City reserves.
So whilst there has been some criticism regarding the move, there are plenty of reasons why it could work – both in Joe Hart and Manchester City’s favour.
With that in mind, here are three reasons Joe Hart can achieve success at Torino…
He is a good goalkeeper
The fact that Joe Hart has been one of the best goalkeepers England has had for some time seems to have gone missing over the past couple of weeks.
His Euro 2016 tournament was shaky and his form during the back-end of last season wasn’t great, but even the best suffer lapses in form.
If he’s going to be moved on because he doesn’t fit Pep Guardiola’s playing style then that is fair enough, but to brandish him as a poor player after he suffered a dip in form is a little unfair.
He’s already adored by the supporters
Since their post-war success, Torino haven’t quite enjoyed as much fortune as they did and they’ve very much settled as a Serie A mid-table side.
The big four of Inter, AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli still very much remains, despite the changing fortunes each seems to have had over the past decade or so.
But what is clear is this – when Joe Hart flew out to Italy to sign that contract he was met by some delighted Torino supporters who can’t wait to have him between the sticks. He’ll be one of their biggest signings ever and whatever happens in the short term, it’s clear Hart will be popular.
And there is no easier game to play in than when the fans are on your side singing your name. Of course, form will be imperative but if he can start strongly, then he should do well.
He has a huge point to prove
Arguably the biggest reason he can have success in Italy is that Joe Hart has a motive – he has a point to prove.
Like many greats, good times and bad times will ensue but it is the way you get over them that will ensure you are remembered for the rest of your career.
Hart has an excellent chance to give Torino a platform for success and he should grab that with both hands.
